And which of these social bookmarking (e.g. Stumbleupon, Digg, del.i.cious, etc) and social networking sites (Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, etc) works best for you? Why
Thanks
I use Digg.com and also Buzzfeed.com primarily. Buzzfeed is nothing special, but I have had a lot of luck putting my pages on page 1, position 1 of Google very quickly.
It is actually a good idea to use as many networking sites as you can to get traffic. I even go as far as digging my Buzzfeed posts, and stumble upon pages. Then I Clipmark my Diggs and original pages. Then I just keep linking between everything. It works well.
The hardest one to fudge, in my opinion, is Digg. You do not want to just create a bunch of accounts and vote for yourself. You need real people to Digg you.
I have some friends and family that I ask to Digg for me sometimes, and am always trying to expand my contacts. I am always happy to Digg sites for others, and hope that they Digg my sites.

I am curious as to what a good affiliate website looks like. Send me yours if you like and I will check it out.
Links please.
The best program is through friendfinder, there is no fees or up front investments, its free to become an affiliate. you can track your stats in real time and they pay you $1.00 for everybody who signs up for a FREE account and even more for each person that pays for an account. You cant beat that. The link to sign up is http://friendfinder.com/go/g797150-brk
I make over $1000 a month and not that I’m all set up, I only put a few hours a month into it, you can make allot more if you put more time into it. And, they dont make you pay anything up front.

I’ve seen websites which you can set up but they are usually for individual websites to advertise your business or yourself etc. but how would I go about setting up a social networking website? Or is this possible through those normal web design ones?
Some knowledge of a scripting language is essential (ASP/PHP and an SQL database would be standard fare), and a dedicated server would be needed for a really popular one. If you want to provide extra features, the ability to create flash/java applets and some knowledge of graphic design would also be very helpful.
However, if you want to get it off the ground, the most important thing for such a site is not its construction – you can get many awesome looking but dead examples of this by flicking through Google – but the availability of a good network of contacts to get it off to a good start.

I am about to launch a site that has lots of quick cooking lessons, as well as recipes, product recommendations, secret ingredients, etc. I will of course link to all the online food stores, equipment makers, ebay, etc.
My forcast is for several hundred hits a day, but possibly thousands.
Can anyone give me an idea of what I can expect?
Thanks!
Is this your first experience with affiliate marketing? From talking with other marketers and my own personal experience, affiliate marketing is a lot more difficult than it would seem at first glance. How much can I expect to make on an given affiliate marketing product is certainly a good question to ask. Unfortunately, it is not an easy question to answer.
There are many variables to consider as I would try to answer the question for myself, if I were in your place right now.
The first question I always ask myself is, "would I buy the product at the price listed?" If I would not buy it at the price, I have to ask myself "How much of a market is there for this product?" Obviously, I can’t make money with affiliate products unless someone is willing to buy it.
I also want to know some background about the company and their financial and management history. If I am going to spend my time and money to promote a product, I want to know the company will be around for a long time.
If everything is fine so far, now we need to define exactly who makes up the target market or markets we want to reach and we need to know where the market segment spends their time on line. Even though we might say everyone should be interested in food, not everyone would be interested in cooking lessons and recipes.
I have listed only a few of the variables which will determine how much, if any, money you will make with a given affiliate marketing product or program. Others like your web site, well written marketing letters, advertising, followup and how many other people are marketing the same product or program, will also greatly affect how much you will make.
Once you put together the answers to all of these questions, you may still not know how much you will make, but those answers should give you a much better idea about whether or not you can make a profit with this venture.
I hope this helps. If you care to discuss this further, feel free to contact me through my 360.Yahoo site.

I want to target schools with my "end of year" video. I am also interested in offering my product as a fundraiser for schools. Do I offer 5% profits on each product/service sold? Do I donate a product or service?
Also I am thinking of going into hotels and having the sales people hand out my business cards to potential clients….people celebrating an occasion, what incentive do I offer sales people?
Any other suggestions would be helpful. I do tribute videos, photo restoration, things such this.
Thank you!!
Print coupons for 15% off and take them to wedding places, schools, hotels, etc. You need to get your name in front of people who are looking for your service. You best sales force is hooking up with people who offer service that compliment yours, but are not competitors. You can refer business to those who help you. Over time your network will grow by word of mouth.

I work for a non-profit organization that has, in spurts, started using social networking sites such as facebok and myspace to connect to current clients, as well as a marketing tool to gain interest. What are the legal issues to be considered with these? How can businesses and organizations stay safe legally while using these sites?
You can start a social networking site under your business or personal name. As long as you don’t create any paid membership or don’t even use an advertising company like google adsense for profit you don’t have to worry about anything. If you start google adsense and you start generating some revenue than your company will have to file taxes for that.
I just started my site last month it is also under my business name.

What is the best way to advertise for my home based business? I teach private music lessons.
Put up notices at the local band instrument stores?
Run a small ad in the local high school paper?
Find out where the home school parents meet and ask if you could make a presentation?

Anybody know where or how I can learn how to build a Social Networking Website? Any tips on what’s involved etc. would be greatly appreciated.
For that you would need to learn PHP, HTML, MySQL (or alternative) and Javascript. It will take a lot of work, and would probably be easier to find a free one that you can host on your own website.
