Today, a local television reporter started following me on Twitter. I am a local musician who tweets about my appearances and projects, and many of the people he follows seem to be everyday local people, so there are explanations as to why he chose to follow me.
However, his affiliate recently did a negative report on a former employer of mine, and I have been outspoken about some of the same issues with the business in the past. I never mention that in my tweets – I try not to even mention the company if it can be traced back to me. It is making me a little nervous, but I want to think I’m being paranoid. Should I block him or just let it be?
I don’t think you need to block him if you aren’t doing anything wrong. If you’re posting things that might hurt or offend someone, then you probably shouldn’t let him follow you. But if you’re simply posting about your music and gigs, what’s the harm in that?
